The most severe humanitarian concerns are lack of food, clothing, and health care. These concerns are magnified as one travels further from the major political and economical regions of Moscow. One area that falls into this category is the Vladivostok region. Located in the farthest extreme of Southeastern Russia, the Vladivostok region is being significantly impacted by the Russian financial crisis. Without a doubt, health care is the most severe concern. Most of the region's hospitals have a critical shortage of medical supplies and the situation will not improve without outside assistance.
